Camping used to be all about getting out and experiencing nature. Although for many this means no electronics, no a single luxury from home, or roughing it. That’s the hard core camper. Many people in Generation X’s era simply can’t live without their electronics and there are some very valid reasons you may need actual power on your camping trip besides wanting to play your Wii on a television propped up on a crate.

In today’s society, the job market has extended to the online world. Many people work from home and must be able to access the internet on the go but they also must be able to power up their laptop. Even if the laptop is portable, many times the battery isn’t able to hold as much power as it used to so it requires frequent “fill ups”.

Whatever your reasons, there is a very effective way to bring power with you that you can use to power a bunch of different devices. You just need a portable generator. Generators have come a long way since the old clunky models that require 4 people and a fork lift to move it around. You can now purchase an extremely powerful portable generator at an affordable price that will power up just about every device your used to. It only took one time of being stranded deep in the forest with everything I brought to the camp site to realize that anything can happen. If you are in a deep dark part of the forest and the only light you have, or the best light you have is your cars headlights you will need to keep the car on to power the alternator that will keep the lights on. This takes a lot of gas, and is overkill. A portable generator can power a flood light or set of flood lights giving you daylight even at midnight!

So even if you don’t want to bring your electronic life with you – think about the potential hazards like a dead car battery, conveniences like flood lights, or even the potential to keep on working on your online job with enough power to keep you working!
